Similar to Impressions, Facebook Reach is slightly different but are still made up of the same 3 basic key metrics
- Organic Reach: The number of people who saw activity related to your Page directly from your Page.
- Paid Reach: The number of people who saw activity related to your Page via a paid Facebook ad.
- Viral Reach: The number of people who saw activity related to your Page via a story published by a friend. For example, if someone likes, comments or shares something on your page, their friends might see a story about your page virally.
Unlike Impressions, which does not measure unique people but instead by giving you the total number of times your activity is seen, Reach is the number of unique people who saw activity on your Page.
For example, Claire sees your post first thing in the morning, then happens to see it again at lunchtime and finally once more on her way home on the train. No matter how many times she has seen your post, only the first time counts, so despite her seeing your post 3 times today, you've only received 1 Reach from Claire
